Ethan Chung, our assistant editor at the magazine, got a new camera last week. These photos were take on Friday. Lyla had to come back with me to the office to edit the proofs for South Sound magazine (they were back from the printer and had to get out before the end of the business day). While there Ethan was able to get a few snaps....aren't they just adorable! Had to share. I know picture overload :)

The Tournament...
Sunday we were at Skiview for a one day slalom tournament. Danny and my dad headed up early because they were both skiing and then my mom, Lyla and I followed. Thankfully we got there in time to see both of the boys ski. It turned out to be a gorgeous day but because it did we weren't the most prepared. As you can see Lyla's shade was by umbrella (quite a sight). Thankfully she was able to stay cool. As always Lyla was a huge hit. Everyone was totally amazed by how much she has grown. It won't be long now and we are going to be chasing her around (by then she won't be going anywhere with out a lifevest so we won't have to worry).
The Second Wedding
The second wedding was at the Abernathy Center in Oregon City. The bride was Krystal Wilson. Krystal's mom and dad are long time friends of my parents. Michelle, Krystal's mom still cuts my mom's hair and mine from time to time when I am in town (It is quite a treat, it has been years since Michelle cut hair professionally and she is still absolutely amazing). When we were young Krystal and I use to play together during my mom and Michelle's visits. The wedding Saturday was gorgeous! Everything was just beautiful. Krystal and I have a lot of similar tastes so you might notice some similarities between our weddings. Even Danny as tough of a critic as he is gave this wedding a 10. :) We had a wonderful time.
A full weekend...Wedding, Wedding and Waterski Tournament
We had a full weekend as always. Friday afternoon Lyla, Danny and I headed down south to my parents house. Saturday we went out to the lake in the morning. Grandpa Stajgr and Danny skied. Then that afternoon we went to two weddings. Sunday we heading back up north for a waterski tournament in Olympia at Skiview. Busy. Busy. Busy. The first wedding was a Tug Lake. My godsister, Lindsey was getting married to Nicolas. It was a beautiful ceremony on the dock right next to the lake. Lyla wasn't the most cooperative but we stayed in the back walking and bouncing around and she seemed satisied with that. This wedding was full of old friends and lots of memories. You see...my Godfather Jeff, Lindsey's Dad, my dad's best friend passed away several years ago of cancer and seeing Jeff's parents sparked a lot of feelings for everyone. We would have loved to stay all night but already had promises to make it to another wedding in Oregon City. It was great to see everyone.
We are going to miss Julia
One of the hardest things about going back to work after having a baby is having someone you don't know watch your child. And once you've found someone you trust and love it is even harder to have them leave and start again. Our babysitter/nanny Julia had her final day with Lyla on Friday. We have grown to love and rely on Julia this last month and are very sad to see her go... Well she isn't really going she is just going back to school. She is a student at UPS (the University of Puget Sound). Thankfully she is still right up the street so hopefully Lyla will still get visits from her first babysitter :)

Happy 3 Month Birthday Lyla!
Lyla turns 3 months today! Happy Birthday Lyla! It is hard to believe. On one end I can't imagine our life now without her...it feels as if she is much older and she has been with us forever...on the other it feels like it was just yesterday I gave birth to her. In the spirit of getting older Lyla did something last night that she has only done about 3 times since she was born. She slept through the night! I couldn't believe it this morning when my alarm went off and she was still sleeping in her bassinet beside the bed. She kept sleeping through my shower, as I got ready and didn't wake until just before I left for work. Being her birthday I stayed for a while, feed her, got her ready for her day and even got a few smiles before I left. Side note: Another big milestone yesterday was the full giggle or laugh (which ever you want to call it) that I got while were were playing. Ususally she just gives one little giggle like a "ha" but yesterday they were one after another. I was just making funny noises and being silly and she loved it. Our little girl is growing up :)

My favorite two people sleeping
I couldn't resist this morning when I was leaving for work to not snap a picture of my two favorite people. Aren't they sweet laying together. This is pretty much the sight I leave every morning. It is definitely hard to go to work. I would love to stay there snuggling with them. They look so cozy and peaceful. I sure do love them.

Potlatch Beach & State Park
Saturday night we heading out to hood canal to visit my parents (Grandma and Grandpa Stajgr to Lyla) who were on a week long RV trip around the peninsula. Potlatch Beach was their final destination. We had dinner with them and then stayed the night. Lyla did well in the RV. It isn't quite like camping (not like we are use to it anyway) but still fun. I have to admit having a warm breakfast in the morning inside was quite a luxury I could live with. After breakfast we walked down to the beach and check out the oyster and clam situation. We didn't take any for ourselves. We didn't have a lisence but next time I think we will. It looked like a lot of fun.
