Berry Popsicles

Yesterday I blended up some fresh raspberries and blueberries (and water) that Grandpa Savage gave us on Sunday and I put them in the freezer to create delicious (and nutricious...aka minus the sugar) popsicles for Lyla. Today with much caution (meaning strickly confined to her high chair) we tested them out. They were a huge success as you can see. Nummy!

Over 6 years together

From time to time I get a little nostaglic and go through old photos. Today I came across these... they are our engagement photos. Most of you haven't probably even seen these unless you got our wedding announcement but even then they were in black and white and the printing didn't do them justice. Jeff Hobson, a dear friend of mine, took them for us. There are so many, of course these are just a few, seems so long ago. In a couple weeks Danny and I will be celebrating our 3 year wedding anniversary. Pretty amazing. Just by looking at these it reminds how much we've grown together. How much has happened and how much we still have left to discover. To us.

Another day at the lake

We really had a perfect weekend and we couldn't have asked for better weather. Sure it was a long time coming (it hasn't exactly been the nicest summer so far). We took it every minute. We arrived back at the lake just before noon. We had had a late night the evening before, playing Wii with our dear friends Katie and Damien, so were are a little slow to get up in the morning. The dock of course was crowded but we didn't care we were planning on being there all day. Danny's family was throwing him a birthday BBQ so everyone came down. Lyla had a blast playing with her cousins and everyone at the lake. She really loves it down there. Like I said it really was a perfect weekend. Wish it didn't have to end.

Skiing for the FIRST time!

So you knew these pictures were coming...why it took us so long to do this I will never know but today...Lyla WATERSKIED! Of course with the assistance of her Daddy. You see this is a time honor tradition and Lyla was just next in line to have her first ski experience in her Daddys arms. It is hard to say if Lyla loved it but she didn't cry so that usually is a good sign. She just took it all in. My theory is if the lifevest wasn't on she would have had the time of her life. She really hates that thing but I am pretty sure for good reasons as you can see it is smooshing her face here :) Very fun and a day to remember always! Of course I took hundreds of pics so these are just a few.

Lyla's BFF

A lot has been going on this week and sadly I haven't taken many pictures to show for it. Tuesday we had dinner with Jordan and Adam...grilling on the porch over looking highlands golf course...got to love that (pictures might show up eventually, Jordan took a few). Wednesday was Daddy's birthday and of course Lyla and I tried our best to spoil him rotten...treats all day long and then dinner at his favorite Thai restaurant (East and West) at night. Even Grandma Stajgr came up to join in the festivities. She stayed the night and watched Lyla on Thursday. It was a special treat because the two girls came to visit me at work and we went to the market for lunch. And then Thursday afternoon, after Grandma took off, Lyla and I headed off to see Lyla's BFF, Claire Stockstad. You might remember a few posts back (well quite a few posts back) pictures of Lyla and Claire together. They were quite a bit younger. Claire lives in Florida but her mommy and daddy are originally from Tacoma so we get to see them a couple times a year when they are in town visiting. It is a very special treat.

Mommy's Shoes

So you might remember a post a while back when Lyla was wearing some of Mommy's jewels, well this week, it is Mommy's shoes. Of course she wanted the sparkly pink ones! :)

Water Baby

Yesterday afternoon we headed out to the lake hoping to beat the weekend dock traffic (which we didn't). It took most of the afternoon but just as we were about to leave the sun came out so we headed down to the shoreline one last time to dip our feet in the water. Lyla felt more like dipping her whole self in rather then just her toes. Danny had to hold her hands just to keep her from running all the way in. Of course she didn't really want our help. She really is our daughter. Our little independent water baby.

Zoobilee 2010

This year was our fifth year attending Zoobilee and I have to say probably our best year. Well I really shouldn't say probably it was definitely our best. Danny and I just had a blast. Since Danny was taking most of the pictures we don't have a lot to show of our night (the majority are blurry or of random strangers...I am hoping Jordan and Adam had better luck on their camera...). Needless to say this is the only snap worth sharing. Thank you Adam and Jordan for being such amazing friends and showing us such a good time. We love you guys!
