Grandma Time

Now that ski season has begun Lyla is getting lots of Grandma and Grandpa time which of course they are all loving. Here is Grandma and Lyla during our walk over the weekend at Skiview. Lyla is already talking about this coming weekend at Warman Lake. I am sure she is going to be disappointed to find out Danny and Mommy are going to be staying the night this time as she has definitely been enjoying having the land yacht and of course Grandma and Grandpa to herself. Yeah to many more weekends to come (and hopefully summer will get here as well so the winter coats and dry suits can be put away).

Dream Location

Saturday after the Skiview tournament everyone was invited over to Gary Pahlka and Cathy Pritchet's house for drinks and appetizers. Upon arrival we all stood in awe. For one after a day of down pour we were all thrilled to see the sunshine and secondly the house and view were out of this world. This is definitely my dream location. It has an amazing view of the sound but to top it off it is just a quick walk down to the water where they pretty much have a beach all to themselves covered in shells, driftwood and rocks where many adventures could be had including searching for sea life and treasures. Lyla loved it. You also might notice in these snaps she is missing her pants. Unfortunately we are in the middle of potty training and with all the excitment she had a bit of a an accident. Being the free spirit that she is she didn't care (honestly we didn't either). It was a fun evening. (Thank you mom for sharing your photos as I didn't have my camera with me).

Projects

So I know I always joke that during craft night I just drink wine while my girlfriends are the ones crafting (which I am not going to lie is usually the truth) but I actually really love to craft. My latest projects have been for Lyla's room. Artwork for her walls and then a new ruffle pillow for her bed. The artwork on the wall was the easiest since I am a designer by trade but my sewing skills were passed on to me by my wonderful mother. I am no where close to the seamstress she is but I am pretty proud of the way my pillow turned out (it is a little wrinkled here, I should have took the picture after I made it but at least you all can see how much love it has already received). Now what to do next....hmmmmmmm

Love of Spaghetti

Even now at 3 Lyla stills needs a bib from time to time to eat her spaghetti. Gotta love a girl that loves her noodles and doesn't mind getting messy. Had to share the show we got last night.

First of the Season

This weekend was our first tournament of the season. Thankfully it was on home turf so we were completely at ease. Sadly the conditions weren't great and no one skied as good as they wanted but we still had a lot of fun. Lyla even got to hang out a bit with her cousins and play on Papa's (aka Grandpa Savage's) golf cart and trampoline. As you can see we had a hard time getting her out of the golf cart but she had a blast and was zonked by the time the weekend was over.

Craft Night with the Ladies

So I have said this before but I have some wonderfully talented friends and last month they decided to put together their own little club and name themselves "I can make shit, too, bitch" in honor of all the other crafter icons in the world (You know who I am talking about, the Martha's and the Rachel's) anyway last night a few of us got together and had our second official craft night. We made living wreaths this time and they turned out gorgeous. I'm of course a little nervous  mine isn't going to survive me but I have my fingers crossed. I can't wait for next month. I am so thankful my friends share their talents with me!

Tacoma Rainiers Game

Now I know these pictures are not of Lyla so I apologize for those of you that only come to our blog for Lyla.com :) but I still thought I would share some of the fun Danny and I have. Last Thursday Katie and Damien (these pictures are infact courtesy of Katie, so thank you Katie for that) invited Danny and I to the Tacoma Rainiers Game. Sadly the Rainiers lost but we still had a blast. As you can see here Danny, the charmer that he is, made friends with a baseball team from Olympia. They were only 16 but infatuated with Danny. It was quite comical to watch.

Adult Time

So I didn't happen to get any snap this weekend but thankfully I am able to share a few snaps my wonderful friend Katie. We had a pretty mellow weekend but Saturday while Lyla was attending a party on her own we took a little time to have some fun "adults only time." First stop Tides Tavern for lunch then to the Parkway for a little shuffle board. Very fun day. Here is also a snap of the munch.
