Dreaming of Mexico

So now that it is getting closer both Danny and I are dreaming of Mexico. We literally can't wait to go on our vacation. We leave in 18 days! Crazy. I am sure we will take hundreds of pictures especially since the real reason we are going to is to celebrate our dearest friend's Jordan and Adam wedding. They are getting married the Sunday after we arrive and I am a bridesmaid and Lyla is the flower girl. The wedding is on an island and it's Jordan's so we all know it is going to be AMAZING! These are just a couple pics I snagged from the Grand Mayan's Resorts website. Danny is already planning many, many, many hours floating on their lazy river. Can't wait to join him!

To the Pumpkin Patch!

Saturday we headed to the pumpkin patch with Grandma Savage, Aunt Alicia and cousins Wriley, Ruby and Ella. This year we tried some where new, of course it wasn't quite the same but the kids didn't seem to care and as you can see they had a blast. What  you don't see is Lyla spent most of the morning in the dirt. She actually did two face plants straight into the mud. I wish I had a picture but what kind of mother would I be if I took a picture instead of helping her off the ground and washing off her face. She is quite the character and had her cousins laughing the whole time. We still  have to carve our pumpkins so more to come.

Night at the Nature Center

Lyla and I headed out Friday night to the Tacoma's Nature Center to enjoy an event called "Creatures of the Night". Lyla's cousin Wriley goes to preschool there which is why we were invited to the event. Lyla loved it there and of course she loved being with her cousins. She is quite the social butterfly...and if you notice in honor of that...Lyla got her first tattoo. I promise mom and dad it is fake :)

Almost a world traveler

Lyla got her passport tonight! I have to say GO government on this one. I can't even tell you fast this came back...I think we went in maybe two weeks ago...maybe! It is crazy how quick and of course we are SUPER thankful! My experience getting my passport was not as positive. I actually got flagged by someone high up and ended up having to give uncle sam my entire life history. And when I say entire life history I MEAN IT! They wanted it ALL....Every job, manager name, contact and date...Every address and date of every place I had ever live...they even wanted a published material with my name it. Thank goodness I worked at the magazine at the time and my name was on the masthead. Needless to say this was definitely one of my biggiest worries for Mexico since we did it so last minute and I thought Lyla might be flagged as well by association to her mother. Yeah for one more thing checked off the list!

Night with Aunt Jordan and Uncle Adam

Sunday after the bridal shower Jordan told me that she was going to watch Lyla and she wasn't going to take no for an answer so Danny and I could have a date night just the two of us. I was an amazing night for Danny and I. I made a special dinner of chicken parmesan (and for those of you know I don't cook so that is a big deal). Thankfully it was delicious! And just sat and talked. While we were dining at home Jordan, Adam and Lyla were having a blast together. Here are some of the snaps they took during their night. And I can't say enough how much we appreciate them and are so thankful they wanted to do it.

Jordan's Bridal Shower

I had the pleasure of co-hosting a bridal shower for Jordan with Jennifer Robbins and Rebecca Baldwin. It turned out fabulous, it was a beautiful day, great food, perfect company and I think Jordan had a great time. A perfect sunday.

Playing at the School

We have the luxury of having an elementary school a block from our house, which is WONDERFUL and now that Lyla is getting a bit more adventurous we find ourselves there a lot. This weekend Katie and Damien came over and we BBQ'd and in between our wii bowling tournament because it was such a nice afternoon we headed over to exert a little energy. I think we all needed to. Here are some pictures of all the fun. Lyla's favorite is the slide. Not that is a big surprise. She is fearless!
