Sickness has Struck the Savvys

Sadly I don't have a lot of pics to post this weekend. Unfortunately Lyla and I have been struck down with some bug. I think I have a sinus infection with a combination of a bit of a cold but Lyla got more of the flu. It was bound to happen. It seems everyone is coming down with something lately. Needless to say we spent most of weekend indoors snuggled up, resting and watching a lot of movies. Thankfully Lyla is almost back to normal. It is amazing how fast children can recover. I am not so lucky but I am improving. I have been trying to do it without antibiotics and instead a few herbal remedies but I might have to breakdown this week and head to the doctor.

Watching Daddy Play Hockey

Last Sunday Lyla and I were finally able to watch one of Danny's games because it was actually schedule for a decent hour (normally they are after Lyla and I are already asleep). The rink they play at is colder then the outside so it is a must we bundle up. Lyla had a blast making new friends and of course watching her Daddy. "Savvy" is quite the trouble maker on the ice but we love that everyone is always cheering (and cursing) him from the side.

Bringing in the New Year

Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of the actual day but it a Savage tradition to have a Japanese feast on New Years Day. For those of you that don't know Danny is part Japanese. I know he doesn't look it but it is pretty apparent when you see his Grandma who is under 5 ft and hardly speaks any english. She is Gigi to all the grand children and quite an inspiration as she is rarely home and can often be found out late partying with all of her japanese friends. A few days before New Years which are where these pics are taken we all take a trip to Uwajimaya in Seattle and load our carts full of yummy goodness. I didn't grow up eating very many asian foods but I have been emersed since marrying Danny and I love it. And as you can imagine we all roll out of Gigi's house new years day but enjoy every minute of it.

New Years Eve

We started out our New Years celebrating Aunt Katie's 30th Birthday at Tony's in Bremerton and then finished the night with our traditional Narrow's New Years Bowl with the Savage family. We had such a great time and love spending time with our family and friends. It is a great start to 2013.

The Fav Gifts of the Season

Sadly I can't take credit for either of these gifts but they have been the highlights of christmas and Lyla spends hours with both. The first is a kitchen set from her Grandma and Grandpa Savage (Alla and Poppa). As you can see here it is even getting use while she is in her undies. Danny and I get meals every night. She is such the little chef. The other is a dreamlight from her Aunt Jordan. I have to admit this is a gift the whole family enjoys and can be found on every night when we go to bed. Here she is reading with it. It is hard to tell but she has it really is beautiful and so fun. Thank you for both and thank you to everyone for all their love this year. Lyla has the best family (blood and not). We love you all.

Christmas Day

My favorite day of the year is Christmas day at my Grandma and Grandpa Stajgr's house. Their home is perfect for any get together. It is so warm, inviting and full of tons of things to do (they have their own built in bar how can you not love that..he he). I always wish I get more snaps during the day but hopefully this is a little glimpse of how we spend our day. It really is my favorite day. Love Christmas! Love my family!

Christmas Morning

This year was a big year. As you might have seen on a earlier post I went a little crazy but I wanted to be sure that Christmas morning was one to remember and I think I (aka santa) did an okay job. It was a great morning and Lyla is loving all her new toys. Finding a place for all of them has been a different story but I think we've gotten it down.

My Ladies

This pic was actually taken quite a bit before the holidays but it still a good one non the less and worth sharing. These are my ladies. We try to get together a least once a month but as we are all mothers it seems to be harder and hard the older and busier our children. This particular night we celebrated our christmas together at The Social down on the waterfront. It was a ton of fun. Wish these get togethers could happen more often. I just love my girls they keep me sane and push me to be better both as a mother and as a friend and in business and in life.
