A Little Grandma and Grandpa Time

This last weekend Lyla and I headed south to visit Grandma and Grandpa. My dad has his hip replaced the week before and we wanted to come and keep him company while he is recovering and of course spend a little time with Grandma too. We had a blast. A little shopping (of course), time at the house, time at the lake. It really was a great weekend and thankfully great weather.

First Front Yard Pool Day

Now that we've had a few nice days of weather it was time to get out the pool. Daddy gave Lyla all her bath toys to keep her company and of course I soaked my feet and hung out her while she played. Being the social butterfly she is Lyla greeted everyone that walked by. Gotta love her.

Sara's Baby Shower

I am not joking when I say almost everyone I know is pregnant. Including my dear friend Sara, who worked for me when I was still at the magazine. I have posted pics of Sara in the past. I adorable her. She is one of those people that just lights up a room with her positive energy and kindness. I definitely miss working with her but I am so happy that we remained friends after I left. She is going to be a wonderful mom. Yesterday Lyla and I went to her baby shower. It felt a little strange because just 4 years ago I was attending her bridal shower with a new born. It was only a couple weeks in and I remember being a nervous wreck. Danny even drove me there and picked me up. Crazy how different this was now that Lyla is four. A great memory and we had a wonderful time.

Mimicing Everything

It is crazy to see yourself in your child or for that matter someone else. Lyla is going through a phase where she is mimicing everything and everyone. Most of the time it is adorable but you definitely have to be careful what you do. Here she is pretending she is Aunt Katie and carrying baby Hannah. She even when around the room asking Danny and I to touch her belly. Definitely one of the adorable moments.

So many wonderful memories and so many photos taken. These literally are just a few and it took me a couple days to get them all up. Thank you to everyone that came and made Lyla's fourth birthday so special. It meant the world to us to have all our friend and family there. We love you all!
