Proctor is Happening on Halloween!

Proctor is a happening place on halloween. It was of course a first for us but Lyla's cousins were old pros. There were hundred of people dressed to the nines and all ages! Our favorite and Lyla's new friend was Little Nemo. Pretty wonderful. We saw all sorts of great characters and Wriley and Ruby scored on the candy front. Definitely coming back next year!

Our little Fairy (and Angel...and Transformer...)

After our morning together we headed over to grandma and grandpa Savage's house for lunch. Lyla and her cousins had fun getting all dressed up. Sadly I only got one photo of them all together and they don't all exactly look happy. Lyla was a fairy. Wriley was a Transformer. And Ruby was an angel. They all looked so cute together. I am glad Lyla is going to have her cousins to share all these great moments with. I grew up having mine and it made being an only child seem insignificant.

Beginning of Lyla's First Halloween

We started out the morning making a big breakfast and finishing up carving our pumpkins. Because we were so last minute they aren't exactly our best work but they do the job. We took a few snaps of us out on the porch. Lyla I think was more interested in eating the pumpkins then smiling for the cameras but definitely a few fun ones.

Just Because She is That cute!

Just sharing because she is that cute. Proud momma!

The Best Noise to Date

Okay so this video pretty much stinks in the filming department and you can hear more tv then anything...I think I was watching Tyra...ha ha... but I finally captured Lyla talking. Probably the best noise I've ever heard. Hope you enjoy it to! :)

5 months and counting

Lyla hit the 5 month mark this week. I know 5 months already. She is pretty much a super star. She also got in her second tooth, sat for a few minutes on her own, rolled over from her stomach to her back and ate green beans and applesauce....more BIG moments. She is just changing so fast. Before we know it she is going to be crawling. She is already kicking her legs trying to get them to cooperate. Another big thing this week...workin mom...her new game is to whipper in her swing when she is tired and doesn't want to fall alseep and as soon as I get up and come over she just laughs. She thinks it is so funny. We do this for a while. I think a lot of it is because she just doesn't want to miss anything and since I've been gone all day I can't help but play along. Gotta love her.

Lyla Playing - Video Test

I have never uploaded a video so this is really just a test. It isn't the most exciting video at that because that was really a test to. Lyla definitely does not preform on que :) I am hoping to capture a few of her chaty moments but those are usually at 4am and who wants to get up and get the video camera especially when it is still dark. Needless to say hopefully more to come. Ha. Ha.

An Evening Out

Danny and I don't go out together much anymore now that we are parents. But every once in a while we are able to have a night out. Rielda (aka Lyla's Grandma Savage) graciously watched the little one last night for us... Of course, we can't thank her enough especially since Lyla is teething... Our evening start at Fujiya. Our favorite Sushi spot. The best in Tacoma if I don't say so myself. If you haven't been go. After dinner we had a little time to spare before we headed to the Narrows Bowling alley to meet for Lander's Big 41st Birthday bash so we called up Sara and Bryan to meet us for a few drinks at the Alehouse. Oddly enough the majority of birthday party crew was already there when we arrived so it was perfect. After maybe an hour there we headed to the bowling alley were I proceed to kick a little bootie. If you don't know I am super competitive and as much as I hate to admit it I especially love to beat the boys. :) It ended up being a super fun night something I think both us needed. (Pictured: (Top) of course Danny and I, (second) Bryan and Sara Wisely, (Third) the bowling alley, (Fourth) Lander Martinson and Danny, (Fifth) Danny, Doug, Lander, Rosie Koponen, a lady I don't know and Larry Capps and ending it off a another pic of Danny and I and Danny cheesin it by himself).

Dame Lola Trunk Show

Saturday afternoon I headed to Varsity to go the Rebecca's first Dame Lola trunk show. Of course there was a ton of amazing pieces. I came out with a sweater and a pair of earrings although I definitely could have purchased more. All the clothes were fabulous. The best part of the day was seeing Jordan. We were suppose to have our monthly girls night this last week but it had to be rescheduled. Thankfully we are going to go this Tuesday. While there (after the buying of course) we were able to sit, chat and drink mimosas. Fun. Fun. Fun.

We have a tooth!

I never realized how hard it was going to be to get a close up snap of a tooth. Hopefully this does the job. Lyla has her first tooth! It is still very low but it has broken through the skin and man is it sharp. Ouch! The second is hot on its heels.

Mommy and Daughter Day

Tomorrow Lyla and I are having a 'Mommy Daughter Day.' Daycare is closed so i've put in a few extra hours this week and a couple early tomorrow in the morning before Danny goes to work so we can spend the day together. We of course do not have any huge plans just glad I am able to be with her. I have a feeling we are both going to spend the day resting since I have been fighting a cold (something I haven't really wanted to admit...I keep telling myself it is a allergies but who am I kidding) and Lyla teething...we are both kind of a mess.

Teething Baby

I know I always post pictures of a sweet smiling baby...and for the most part she always is...and even now that she has two teeth coming in at the same time she is still pretty great but there are moments where life for her isn't the best. And she is definitely not the happiest. Today was one of those days. Her two bottom teeth right in the front (if you look close you can see the white) are just about to break thru the surface and poor Lyla...no matter how much patience she has no one can stay happy thru all that. Everyone keep their fingers crossed that this process speeds up a little faster for her so that by this weekend maybe she can begin to enjoy herself again.

Never Enough Hugs & Kisses

After seeing these photos that Ethan took of Lyla a couple weeks ago I just want to go home and shower her in hugs and kisses. I really have become a mom. There is nothing I wouldn't do for her and no one I wouldn't hurt that tried to hurt her. She is truely the most wonderful thing ever created and I love her. Thank you Ethan for sharing! These are just...well...you know how I feel.

Weekend at Grandma and Grandpa Stajgr's

Friday we headed South, first making at stop in Vancouver to have dinner with my grandparent (Great Grandpa and Grandma Stajgr). It was fun to see them and catch up. Of course they hadn't seen Lyla in for over a month so she was a big hit. Afterwards we headed to my parents house where they were waiting up for us. Well my mom was, my dad was fast asleep on the couch...ha ha. The rest of the weekend was full of solid good ol' family time. My mom and I did our traditional fabric store and shopping run while the boys played. I got a ton more Christmas shopping down which makes me feel better each time I can check something off my list. Sunday we all went down to the lake after breakfast. The girls sat in the boat and watched while the boys skied. Lyla although a pro a being in a boat seemed to have already forgotten. She was wide eyed and quiet...taking everything in. She seemed to really the like the idea of driving all by herself. Here are a few snaps I stole from my mom. All in all a fun weekend.

It really is great to be a girl!

Target (all new and we know Target has the steals!)
Gap (all sales merchandise by the way)
Old Navy (all sale merchandise as well!)
So everyone knows I am a shopaholic (I think Confessions of a Shopoholic was actually written just for me) so why deny it. I have found some great pieces for Lyla recently. During the first few months I found buying cute stuff for her very difficult but she has finally reach a size where there are more adorable things then I can fit into my shopping cart. My most recent surprise shopping trip was to Target. They just got a ton of cute holiday gear and lets just say I LOVE IT! Great little sweaters! Cute Skirts! Dresses! So So So Cute. These are of course just some of the great stuff out there right now. If you know someone with a baby girl now is the time to shop!

Yummy Peas!

Okay so it isn't the most conventional way to feed your child but last night we stripped Lyla down to try out some peas. Last adventure (with the carrots) she had them everywhere and for the mom that isn't the best at getting stains out this seemed like the right way to go. Peas were not as big of success as the carrots. We weren't able to capture the face she made when she got them in her mouth but pretty comical. As you can see she is getting the hang of eating. Less time sucking on the spoon and more time swollowing. She does want to feed herself already. Constantly grabbing at the spoon! (Toward the end we brought back out the carrots).

Testing Out Toys

Thanks to Lyla's cousins Wriley and Ruby (and Aunt Alicia) we've been able to test out a few baby contraptions. Tuesday it was the jumper. It hangs from a beam (which makes a protective mommy nervous but it does seem sturdy enough) in our house. She found it pretty entertaining. Although the majority of the time she was just sucking on the chair. Soon I think she is going to be bouncing all over the place.
