San Juans

This weekend we went to the San Juan Islands...well...more specificly Friday Harbor with the Savage clan (Grandma Savage, Great Grandma Rose, Aunt Alicia, Uncle Tyler and Cousins Wriley, Ruby and Ella). We were celebrating Rielda's 50th Birthday with a little family trip. Danny, Lyla, Tyler and I left Friday evening which I am not sure we would do again. Because we just missed the 8:30pm ferry we had to wait for the 10:30pm ferry and that ferry stopped at each island and with a little one (obviously much past her bed time) getting to the island by 1am just didn't go well. Needless to say we had a couple melt downs. Thankfully we were able to sleep in a little on Saturday and spend the day relaxing, eating, shopping and driving around. We saw all sorts of wildlife, the infamous San Juan camel, bald eagles...even a fox which was much later in the night during a drive Danny and I had to make because of another baby meltdown. I think she just wanted to go home. So sweet but so nerve wrecking. After that one mom (me) had a little meltdown myself. We did make it over to Roche Harbor as well on Saturday. Can you say GORGEOUS! Someday, when Danny and I win the lottery because that is the only way we are going to have that kind of money, we'll have a boat like these. Sunday we slept in again and didn't get in line soon enough for the ferry we wanted and missed it again. Thankfully it worked out alright and we still made it home in time for Danny to make it to his games. He had to ref at 7pm. I know crazy. All in all a great weekend. We are each dragging a bit this morning but to be expected. There are a ton of pics so these are just a few hope you enjoy!

Dinner Time!

Dinner time has become a much bigger event in the Savage house. In the beginning it was just Danny and I and we often took the easy route since it was just us but that there are three of us now (the third being a growing baby girl) so much bigger meals are prepared and all the food groups have to be hit. Lyla is loving it. Last night it was baked fish, rice and steamed cauliflower and carrots. She ate every bite and so did we! They still aren't the most elaborate meals but we are trying. As you can see from these few silly snaps she has pretty much devoured it all. Each of those sections were full and refilled. Yum! Yum!

Our afternoons...

Our afternoons are filled with mommy picking everything up and Lyla taking everything down. Her favorite spot of distruction is the entertainment center. I put the dvds away. She pulls them out. I put the wii games away. She pulls them out. She also loves to push on the stereo buttons which often leaves the system in a snarled mess. Thankfully I am starting to learn more and more about it so I can fix it. She hasn't quite figured out how to open the dvd player but I imagine it isn't far away. And as you can see the unreachable are starting to be closer and closer to those little fingers everyday. Thats our little terror. :)

Breakfast at the Hob Nob

This morning, because it was such a beautiful morning, we walked to Aunt Katie and Damien's place to meet them for breakfast. Our choice for breakfast, the Hob Nob, a local diner in Tacoma. It was a fabulous breakfast. I think Lyla ate more then all of us. She even got her own pancake although I think Mommy ate more of it then she did. She was more interested in what everyone else was having. :) Perfect Sunday.

Take me out to the ball game!

Yesterday was our first Rainier's game of the season and Lyla's first baseball game all together. As to be expected Lyla took in every moment. When her Daddy yelled she yelled, when everyone clapped she clapped (delayed of course because it took her a second to realize everyone was clapping and she was missing it). We had a ton of fun. And as you can see for the first time I got a ton of Mommy and Lyla pics. Usually I am the one behind the camera. ha. ha. Thank you to Aunt Katie and Damien for inviting us.

Spring Cleaning...Feels good!

Not to often you get to see our house like this so documentation was a must. The past two days I have been on a mission. A mission of "Spring Cleaning." Of course each time either Danny or Lyla enter the house all my work goes adios but for this moment it feels good to just enjoy the cleanliness. I still officially have one more room to go (the dining room) but because I have a painting project in there it is a little difficult. I am thinking because it is such a nice day I might head outside next. I had a couple other things I wanted to do indoors but it is just to beautiful to waste. Chao! Note: For those of you that know our house you might see a few improvements...a new rug in the living room...blinds in our bedroom...a security gate upstairs...the honey do-list has been in full swing. Feels good.

Bring on the sun and the outdoors

Yesterday we invited Katie and Damien over for some BBQing, while over, it seemed Lyla just couldn't get enough of the outdoors. Everytime the door opened she was right at everyone's heels to get outside. Eventually Daddy took her out to the grass. She loved it. Of course she instantly made a beline for the bark, yuck! I have a feeling she is going to be a "dirt eating" kind of kid. Yey us.
