Cade's First Birthday

Sunday we joined Jordan and Adam along with all their friends and family to celebrate Cade's First Birthday. It was a pool party at the Tacoma Lawn & Tennis Club. It was a gorgeous day, great food, wonderderful company. All in all the best first birthday I have ever been to and I know we had a blast. So much in fact we had to take Lyla out kicking and screaming (so not my favorite way to leave anywhere but it happens with a three year old).

Lake Time

Saturday we made the rounds, starting first at Rainier Lake where Daddy and "Poppa" (aka Grandpa Savage) took a few sets and then to Winlock were Grandpa and Grandma Stajgr were for a tournament, then to Skiview (still with my parents) as they traveled north for a sunday tournament. It made for a full day but a fun one. Here are two pics of Lyla at Rainier.

Shoes! Shoes! Shoes!

So as everyone knows I am a shoeaholic. I actually read a book this weekend called "Shoe Addicts Anonymous" sooooo fitting. Anyway one of the greatest parts of having a little girl is the footwear. And now that school is fast approaching I can continue the age old tradition of the first of the year school shopping. And yes, shoes have been the focus. Here are just a couple I'd gotten so far. Magenta glitter TomsWestern Chief rain boats, and pink Minnetonkas (these were actually on the school supply list, not exactly these specifically but they are my version of a rubber sole slipper). Needless to say I don't think I will ever tire of buying teeny tiny shoes.

Weekend Getaway

This weekend Danny and I along with our dear friends Katie and Damien headed to Ridgefield to stay at my grandparents houseboat (just the four of us, Lyla spent the weekend with Grandma and Grandpa). This has become an annual tradition. It usually falls on our anniversary but this year we were at Detroit Lake so we decided on the following weekend. The weather didn't exactly cooperate for us this year but we still had a blast. We sunbathed (when the sun came out), fished, roast hot dogs on a fire we made on the beach, played games, went out to pizza...I even read a whole book...needless to say a perfect weekend. Just like any trip we all wished we could have stayed longer. A special thanks to my Grandparents for sharing their home away from home. Very special memories have been had there from when I was a child until now. Love you both!

Family Vaca to Detroit Lake

Last week the Savvy fam headed to Detroit Lake in Oregon for a little camping, R&R and Stajgr family time. It was a wonderful trip and I must say too short. I don't think anyone was ready to come back to reality yesterday. Here are just a few pics of our trip. As you can see the weather was amazing. We spent lots of time with my parents, grandparents, aunt, uncle and cousins. We jet skied, sunbathed, bbq'd, played lots of cards (even learned pinnacle) and of course just had a ton of fun. Even Lyla didn't want to come home. Hopefully we'll continue to keep this tradition alive as the years go on.

Baby Cade

Thanks to Aunt Jordan I have a few pics to post from last week (I promise I will take lots of photos this week while we are camping at Detroit Lake, I just haven't been good lately). Needless to say here are a few pics of Lyla and Cade (Jordan and Adam Moll's son and "Baby Cade" to us). Lyla seems to have become quite the seasoned pro when it comes to the fellas and I think Cade has fallen for her charms. It is a little joke we share but Lyla has been the first in his bed first to take a bath with and his first kiss (as you can see here). As parents I can't say I'd be disappoint, even if he is younger, for Lyla to end up with. He is the sweetest! They are adorable!
