Easter Sunday

We started off Easter sunday with an amazing breakfast made by my mom...Mimosas, a delicious, fritata, ham and crossiant rolls...yum! Then we got in our finest and heading to church. Lyla of course fell asleep before we even got there so in the interest of actually making in through the day with any sort of sanity we let her sleep so she missed the service and so did Danny since he stayed in the car with her. After church we went to my Aunt Dianes for dinner. It was amazing as well. Always love the big family dinners. Lyla played with my cousins children and had a blast. They even had there own easter egg hunt in my aunt and uncles back yard. A very fun day.

My Little Lounger

So most of you that have spent time with my munch know that she is quite the character. I am not sure how much of it comes from me (the independence yes, but the silly-ness definitely Danny). Here she is in the living room at my parent's house be herself just lounging. Such a funny duck.

A beautiful day

Saturday morning Danny, Lyla and I headed down south to my parents house. Of course there was a ton of excitment when we got there. Because it was such a beautiful day (and I mean BEAUTIFUL) we decided to have Lyla's first easter egg hunt outside. She loved it and knew exactly what to do. Since we are big on candy in our house (especially since Lyla still chooses fruit and veggies first, thank goodness because we all know that isn't going to last) we filled the eggs with Annies Fruit Snacks and little toys. She loved it and had a blast eating and playing with her new treats. After the hunt we went to the lake (bad mommy for not bring our camera). It was so warm Lyla put on her bathing suit and went and played in the sand. What a fun day!

5th Year with Celebrity Waiter

 Celebrity Waiters 2007
 Celebrity Waiters 2008
 Celebrity Waiters 2009
Celebrity Waiters 2010

Tomorrow evening is the kick off for Celebrity Waiters, a charity event I have been involved with for 5 years now. It is crazy how quickly time flies by. I asked Beth Rosapepe for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to send me the group shots from the last few years so I could have them for my own personal records and I thought I would share. See if you can find me. This years theme is western. I have enlisted Brittany Staten and Sara Wisely to help me host my table again this year. They were such a help last year. Already brainstorming for this year.

A Day at the Ball Park

Saturday evening we were invited by Katie and Damien to head to Cheney Stadium and watch the Tacoma Rainiers. It was the first game of the season for us and a perfect night for it. A little chilly but clear which was wonderful and of course it helped that we had great seats and a summit club pass for free drinks. The best part of the evening was it was a kid free evening. Something we don't get to do very often. Lyla spent the night with her cousins which I know she loved.

BBQing in the Cold

Saturday night Danny, Lyla and I invited over Aunt Katie and Uncle Damien for a little BBQing. Of course it wasn't the nicest day but it didn't rain so you have to be pleased with that. It was a lot of fun. Danny tried out the new Coors Light keg and handmade jalapeno burgers. Everything was delicious and we had a ton of fun. Lyla might have too much fun as she crashed not to far in. A perfect weekend all in all.

A little Tofu...okay a lot of Tofu

After our walk downtown we decided to have a little lunch of course sushi seemed like the perfect choice. Sadly our fav spot, Fujiya, was closed so we tried something new, Flying Fish on Pearl. It was good but nothing like Fujiya. Lyla of course didn't care as you can see from these pictures she could get enough. This is her trying to get every last piece of tofu. Crazy girl.

Urban Forest Project

Saturday Danny, Lyla and I headed downtown to the "Speak for the Trees Celebration" at Tollefson Plaza. At the event they were unveiling all the banners from various artists of Tacoma lining Pacific Avenue. Excitingly enough mine was on of the banners select.
