Our little one is two months old now and it amazes me every day the little person she is becoming. Her mannerisms, her personality...even her little attitude :) She really is a miracle. This photo was taken this morning, although she is sleeping better thru the night she still wakes up a little to early for mom and dad to get up so she eats and then mom and Lyla cuddle in the big bed until a more appropriate hour.
On a side note I am heading back to work Monday and I never thought I would say this but I don't think I am ready. It is going to be more difficult then I ever imagined. I am going to miss her so much. I just hope I don't miss everything. In the beginning we hadn't found our rythum and I couldn't wait to get back but now it is almost like we understand each other, like we've become one. I know what she needs and she knows what I need. Of course there is always a bad day here and there especially with this heat we've been having but everyday has become something new...she is changing so quickly...picking up things so fast and...when she smiles at you....ahhhhh....I am a total sucker.

More Swimming and This Time She Like it!
The Stajgr family (Grandma, Grandpa, Danny, Lyla and myself) spend Sunday this weekend out at the lake. We skied, sat on the dock, enjoyed the sun, had a picnic lunch and took Lyla for a swim. This time she not only didn't cry she actually like it. Of course Mint Lake is pretty much the temperature of bath water right now with the weather being as hot as it is but she loved it. I think we all did.
A Great Morning View
Surprise Party for my Uncle Roger
Lyla and I had a full weekend down south with a little extra. We headed down on Wednesday to spend a couple extra days with my parents. Run a few errands, get a few appointments in and of course do a little shopping. Saturday we heading to Great Grandma Stajgr's house a little early to help set up for my Uncle's 60th Surprise Birthday Party. Danny and my Dad went skiing (of course). It was a great day. He was completely surprised. While there Lyla given a lot of love specificly by Great Grandma and my Dad...they actually did a little tug-a-war with my little one. Luckily all survived and Lyla loved the attention.

First Family Photoshoot
At two weeks we had Jeff Hobson...an amazing photographer we use for the magazine....come over and take some pictures of Lyla. I have to note that if you are in the market for a photographer...wedding, family portraits, etc...I would completely recommend him to anyone...he is absolutely great with people and as you can see amazing shots (and let me just preface this particular shoot with I was running a 101 fever and sweating like you wouldn't believe and Lyla was crying pretty much then entire time...pretty amazing huh).

A Night Out
Danny and I had a big night out last night...Zoobilee (a black tie event/fundrasier for the zoo)...we have gone for 4 years now. The zoo was filled with different restaurant and alcohol venders. Danny and I had a blast but being the new parents we are we ducked out a little early. We both were exhausted and ready to go home and try to salvage what sleep were going to get for the night...And....the exciting news is....Lyla slept through the ENTIRE night! First time!!!! We picked her up at Grandma Savages around 11:30pm...she was already fast asleep...had been for a while...we packed her up, still out...we got home and unloaded, still out...put her in her bed, still out...this morning at around 5:30am I heard my first peep. AMAZING!!!! And because mom and Dad weren't ready to get up after feeding her I layed her down beside me she jabbered on for a hour or so (mom feel back asleep...nodding in and out at first) and when I woke up around 9:30am...she was back asleep herself. She really was a fabulous girl today.

Lyla sports her "babylegs"
Lyla sported her babylegs yesterday while hanging out at the house. If only leg warmers were that cute on adults.

First Shots for Lyla
Today was a rough one for little Lyla she had her first shots. We were in for her 6 week check up. Everything is great. She is in the upper 90th percential for height and weight (weighing in at a little over 11lbs, and measuring over 24 inches). The hard part of the visit wasn't the time with the doctor it was the time at the end with the nurse. Lyla had to have three shots. Of course Daddy had to be the strong one for this. Mommy has a horrible fear of needles and had a tendency already to cry when Lyla cries so I had to stand back while this all happened (tearing up of course). Lyla did very well. She did scream a little was quickly calmed. They did give her a little tylenol to help with the pain and told us to avoid rubbing her leg because it will be pretty sore. My poor little bug. She has been more fussy then normal today but rightly so. Thankfully she is also very sleepy.
Mint Lake Open..3rd Tournament of the year for us!
We didn't get a ton of snaps this weekend but it was full of new meetings for little Lyla. The entire Mint Lake crew was there among many others that hadn't had a chance to see Lyla yet. It was fun to show her off. Of course Danny and I are super proud. We arrived down at Mint Friday evening...had dinner with Grandma and Grandpa Stajgr. Saturday was Grandpa Stajgr's birthday so it was extra special. Danny slalomed, jumped and tricked on Saturday making it a full day but he did well. Lyla was a little on overload and had a rough evening. So many new people and new things to see she didn't nap as much as she needed. Sunday we took it easy and spend the majority of the tournament up in scoring with Grandma Stajgr sleeping which was much needed. The weather for the weekend was all over the place but all in all a success...even through the rain there were plenty of personal bests. Pictured above is Danny slaloming and then Erika Bolliger holding Lyla, Erika and I grew up together, her parents are one of the other sets of owners out at Mint Lake along with my parents.

Lunch with Sarah and Claire
Lyla and I went to lunch with Sarah and Claire Stockstad today. Claire was born on mother's day just two weeks before Lyla. Sarah, although currently living in Florida (my first Tacoma friend..and Tacoma local), has been a savior for me throughout my entire pregnancy and now motherhood...it has been a blessing to have someone who knows exactly what you are going through because she is as well. We are both first time moms. We had lunch at the Rosewood cafe. It was delicious. I was a little nervous Lyla wasn't going to behave herself (her first restaurant experience...a lunch visit at Varsity Grill with Jordan...did not go so well) but she was a perfect angel. I kept waiting for her to wake up and want to eat or be walked around or play but she just stayed in her carseat the entire time falling in and out of sleep. We had a wonderful time and look forward to more visits with Sarah and Claire while they are here in town for the summer.

4th of July Weekend - Sunday
Sunday the tournament began early again at 8am but this time Danny and I weren't as quick to get up and get going. With all the activities of the day before our little Lyla didn't sleep as good as normal making it difficult for Mom and Dad to get up the next morning. Thankfully we did...dragging...but we did. Danny slalomed again and then later in the afternoon he jumped. After his slalom set Grandma Stajgr and mom reserved a little girl time (minus the little one) to go golf. The boys thought that sounded like a pretty good idea as you will see they are the hole behind us trying to golf with Lyla. Being the girl she is she didn't make it all that easy for Grandpa and Dad. They switch holding her and pushing the empty stroller and golf clubs. As you can see Lyla had no interest in laying down. Of course it was another hot day so we spent most of our time under cover and Lyla did a little more swimming. All in all it was a really fun weekend. We were beat by the time we made it home but content. Lets just hope we can get 'sweet pea' back on schedule this fine Monday morning.
