Baby it's Cold Outside!
So as many of you are experiencing Tacoma is/was covered in snow these last few days. This day in particular I actually had to crawl from my back seat to my front seat just to get into my car because the front doors were frozen shut. I must have been quite a sight. Thankfully I leave for work at 5:30am in the morning. I think it is funny how we get the worst of the winter weather just as spring approaches. Sadly as Monday has arrived the snow has melted and the rain has hit but these are pictures are from Friday. This is my car after being in the garage all day while I was a work. As you can see even with the sun shining outside it was so cold not a bit of the snow melted off my car. I was amazed to find it this way. The weather forecast says we have more snow in our future. I have to say if it is going to be cold I will take snow anyday over rain but I am dreaming of summer.

Flip-n-Out
After the zoo we decided to grab a little lunch. We have heard rave reviews about a place called "Flip-n-Out" so we thought we'd see if it lived up to those reviews...of course it did and much more...we all know the burger lover I am. Here are some pics of Lyla entranced by "Kung Fu Panda," her new fav movie (don't ask me why) and eating her own burger and fries. Yum!
To the Zoo!
Sunday because it was such a beautiful day we went to the zoo. Thankfully we got there early before the crowds (they were all piling in when we were leaving). Lyla was adorable. She said "Hi" to all the animals and some of them even acknowledged her back. Very fun morning.

Splish Splash
Yesterday Lyla had the pleasure of her first Valentine's Party. There was heart shaped pizza, push pops, decorated sugar cookies and valentines from all her friends (this was at daycare by the way). Needless to say when I picked her up she was a mess. Thankfully not too sugared out but frosting in her hair, juice from the push pop soaking her diaper and even an M&M stuck to her butt. So naturally the first thing we did when we got home was strip her down and get in the bath. I've censored some of these for my Dad's sake although as you can imagine they are much cuter with her little bum showing. Enjoy.

Happy Valentines Day
Since I don't have any photos from the weekend I thought I would share a little valentine I designed. I have to say I am sad I don't have anything to share because this may have been hands down my most favorite Valentines weekend ever. Friday afternoon my mom came up. We played hooky and went and had pedicures at La Bella nail salon then did a little happy hour hopping. First to CI Shenaigans then to Stanley and Seafords. Both were amazing and it was fun to have a little Mother Daughter time. After we were finished we picked up Lyla who was having an afternoon playdate with her cousins. We finished the night in bed watching a chick flick just the ladies. Saturday Lyla, myself and my mom went shopping at Tacoma Mall. Gotta love that. Of course we found a ton of great things (not that we ever don't). That evening my mom stayed home with Lyla and Danny and I had our Valentine's night. First dinner at El Gaucho...AMAZING...and then a little surprise from Danny, overnight accommidations at Hotel Murano which was also AMAZING! We had drinks at the Hotel Bar, got a great nights sleep then had breakfast at BITE the follow morning just before we headed home. It was just wonderful. The rest of the day was mellow. Danny was headed back up north to ref (that is actually where he was most of the weekend), my mom headed home and Lyla and I spent the afternoon napping, watching movies and hanging out. Like a said a perfect weekend.

Sick Babe
So among all the weekend activites we had a sick babe and a cranky one at that. You got feel bad for her though she has an old mans cough and a fauct for a nose. Hopefully she will be on the mend soon. Hate seeing my baby miserable.
One room down and too many more to go...
This weekend was a pretty mellow one. THANK GOODNESS! Friday Danny and I went on a little date to Anthony's. It was great to just sit together, talk and have a great meal. Saturday after I much needed morning of R&R we went to ikea to get Lyla a new bookshelf for her room then a quick stop to stock up at Costco. We spent the afternoon watching movies and putting together the bookshelf. Sunday I cleaned. Well not really cleaned as much as organized Lyla's room. Went through all her toys, books and puzzles, hung her responsibilty chart (although she has more fun playing with the magnetic then really understanding the concept) but most importantly her dresser. Since this room is usually pretty tighty you probably can't tell the difference but it sure felt good. Now if only it didn't take a day to get that done. We have a pretty decent sized house so many, many, many more rooms to go. We ended the weekend with our fabulous friends Katie and Damien watching the super bowl at their casa. It was a blast. Loved every minute. Never the less a great weekend. Sad it had to end.

Monkey See, Monkey Do
So as I have mentioned recently my daughter is crazy. She has really taken on a personality of her own. Oh wait she always has. Maybe the better way to explain it is her personality has gone to new heights. Here Lyla is last night determined to walk in mommy's boots. She made a few steps then back to the floor she went. I think this look should have it's own category. It takes a whole new meaning to thigh high boots. Gotta love her sense of style. Also it is very clear that mommy has run those boots into the ground. Time to replace I think :)
