Rosie's Bridal Shower

So another weekend passes and I still didn't break out my camera. I know bad Heather. I even got a request from my dad for more pics (on Lyla.com as he likes to call it). The best I can do and I know Lyla isn't in it is a couple pictures from a bridal shower I attended this weekend for Rosie Koponen. Rosie is an old co-worker of mine from Premier Media Group. She is marring another old co-worker of mine Lander. They are both dear friends and I couldn't be happier for them both.

These photos were taken by another guest at the party, Kelly Ringler Flores (and swiped from facebook).

Flower Girl

I have been dying to share these but I didn't want to post anything until the bride Jordan did but after seeing this morning that she posted a few of her own on her blog I thought I'd be safe to share a couple of our sweet little flower girl. This last November as you may remember the Savvy family headed to Mexico for our dear friends, Jordan and Adam's, wedding which I have to say was a truely amazing event and we feel so blessed to have been a part of it. These photos were taken by Jeff Hobson during the ceremony. As you can see miss Lyla isn't exactly focused on the bride like we all were but she enjoyed playing in the sand and telling the waves to behave (we had one big one come up pretty far but thankfully it just washed right back away and that was the only one). What an amazing day! To see a few more shots go to entertainwithjordan.blogspot.com.

Seattle Boat Show

I know I haven't been the best about posting let alone taking pictures. I promise to make a better effort. This weekend my parent came up for a visit and saturday morning we went to the Seattle boat show. The pictures here are of us going to see the big boats. Lyla was coming to her end here but we all still had a great time.

Snow. Snow. Snow.

So because the weathermen have constantly been changing their tune all week from snow to no snow to snow to rain we were a little shocked the snow actually started coming down late last night. I mean coming down. On my windshield this morning was at least 2-3inches. Danny being the wonderful daddy that he is took Lyla out in it to play. She LOVED it. He even taught her to eat it which of course being the munch mouth that she is she was all over that. I didn't stay outside long and they came in shortly after me. What a beautiful site it was to wake up this morning to a white Tacoma. Now if only it wasn't dark outside (I wake up way to early). Sorry for the photo work by the way. When I say it was late it was, these were taken just before we headed off to bed and with the amount of snow falling my camera was having some issues. Thankfully I got a couple to share.

Ready for Summer

I am not sure I have ever posted these words but for these photos I just have to "I think my daughter is crazy." Over the weekend she became obsessed with her swimsuits. There was even a moment when she had them all on. Now I don't know if she realized the weather forecast was predicting snow but she is most certainly ready for summer.

And the results are in!

Last night was the wrap up party for the Celebrity Waiter Luncheon & Auction event (November of 2010). As you will remember from past posts this was the first year I hosted my own table which was pretty exciting for me. My table raised about $5000 which I feel very good about being my first year. The event itself raised about $170,000 total which far exceeded our goals. All the money goes to the Leukemia & Lymphoma society. It is a great cause and I am honored I have been able to be a part of it the last few years.

Aunt Katie's Birthday

Aunt Katie's birthday falls on New Year's Eve every year which of course is a hard day to try and celebrate. Last year we had huge plans to go all out for her but I got a horrible flu so the plans were canceled. This year we did it up right. Breakfast in the morning at the Hob Nob, shopping all day and then a surprise dinner at the Ram with all her family organized by her sis. It was a great New Years Eve for us all (and hopefully for Aunt Katie) even if Danny, Lyla and I crashed just after dinner and didn't make it to midnight. Here is Lyla just before we went to dinner. She crawled into her new christmas carseat all by herself and passed out. It was pretty comical. I guess she knew she needed to save up all her energy for dinner. Silly girl.

Uwajimaya

On New Years day it is tradition to be with the Savage family and have a HUGE Japanese meal. And part of having that meal means heading up to Seattle to Uwajimaya. This year all of us ladies (Rielda, Alicia, Grandma Rose and me) went up together with all the kids. It was quite a sight but we made it through with very few struggles. Well not completely struggle free. Lyla lost it right at the end but to her credit it was pretty crazy in Uwajimaya. I think every Japanese woman was there. It was like a million Grandma Rose's running around. I have to admit it was a lot of fun and Lyla and I grab a few things to try to make on our own including Green Curry and Tempura. Pretty excited to test them out! Here are a couple pics of Lyla and Ruby sharing the cart together. They are pretty cute. Gotta love the cousin love!
