Amazing Weekend - Part 2

Late Saturday afternoon Katie and Damien arrived. Of course the first thing we had to do was get in the water (again for Danny and I). The ladies floated infront of the house while Danny did flips off the diving board. Later that evening we adventured back out to St. Helens, OR (just right across the river) for dinner. I can't remember the name of the restaurant but we had a fabulous "Greek Goddess" pizza. Once we got back to the WA side we were all beat and didn't make it past 10pm. The next morning we fixed breakfast and headed out for another day on the beach in the sun. What a beautiful weekend. The weather was just amazing. For lunch we headed back into St. Helens again (we also want to fill the boat with gas...don't want to be the type of guests that just use and leave). We had burgers at the most amazing little Hawaiian joint. They were soooo delicious and I am a burger lover. We also stoped and got ice cream. Yum. After lunch we headed back to the beach for a little more bathing. By late afternoon we were all a little crispy and Katie and Damien needed to head back home. Sunday evening Danny and I just laid low. Found a couple movies on TV and vegged together. Just before bed we did a little dusk cruise before we returned the boat to the stall. We knew since this was the longest we'd ever been from Lyla we were going to be waking up early the next morning to go and see her. I was already missing her a ton. Thankfully it didn't even phase her that we were gone. She had a blast with Grandpa and Grandma. A big thank you goes out to them for taking care of her and to my Great Grandparents for allowing us to use their second home. We really couldn't have asked for a better weekend. We love you all!!!!

Amazing Weekend - Part 1

Late Friday afternoon Danny and I set off for a weekend together. My mom (Grandma Stajgr) had come up the evening before and had taken Lyla home with her that morning. Grandpa and Grandma had offered to watch Lyla while Danny and I headed down to the river to have a little alone time together and celebrate our anniversary. Our original plan was to camp but after many calls to the state parks of choice and no success we reached out to my Grandparents (Great Grandma and Grandpa Stajgr). You see they have a boat house in Ridgefield on the Columbia. With the weather forecast being in the 90s we thought that would be a perfect place to spend our weekend and it was! To our surprise when we got there, there was a note that told Danny to call gramps...he wanted to let Danny know that he had permission to take out the boat. Now that might seem silly to you all reading this since we are both water babies and boaters from birth but this isn't just any boat it is a old wood criss craft. My grandpa's prized posession. Danny had helped him with the motor this winter and I think that is what sealed the deal. Either way it was a huge honor and what made our weekend. Saturday morning we got going pretty slowl...made breakfast...back up our bags...and got ready to head to the beach. We spent most of the afternoon sun bathing, drinking margaritas and playing in the water it was perfect. So perfect that we couldn't resist inviting our dear friends Katie and Damien for the night....

3 Year Wedding Anniversary

Today, 3 years ago Danny and I were getting married. Okay we were actually getting ready to get married. Danny was at the golf course with his groomsmen and the ladies were off getting our hair done. What an amazing day it was. It is hard to imagine that it was that long ago. Obviously so much has changed since then. We have our wonderful daughter Lyla now. Gotta love life and the changes that come with it.

Crescent Bar

This weekend we went to Crescent Bar with Danny's family. His Sister and Brother-in-Law were already there with Lyla's cousins. We headed over Friday night with Grandma and Grandpa Savage. It was a long drive but worth it. Especially to be heading where the sun and heat were. We had a fabulous time as you can see from the many pictures. We played in the condo developments pool, we went out to the beach in the boat, we fished, played in the sand, we swam a lot. All of us are dragging this evening but what a great weekend wish we could have stayed longer.

Mint Lake Sandbox

This weekend we headed north to Mint Lake for the Mint Lake One Day. Yes, another waterski tournament. I scored most of the day so my mom (Grandma Stajgr) could get a little extra time with the pumpkin. Needless to say no pictures were taken the day of but I did manage to snap a few the next day when we were at the lake playing in the sandbox...more like the sandie beach... Lyla loved it and as you can see she got it all over. Thankfully when you are that small you don't seem to care when you have sand in your eye. We got her washed off and she of course sat back down and started playing again. It was a fabulous weekend (would have loved to see more sun but shouldn't complain...it was still pretty great no sun or not).

Berry Popsicles

Yesterday I blended up some fresh raspberries and blueberries (and water) that Grandpa Savage gave us on Sunday and I put them in the freezer to create delicious (and nutricious...aka minus the sugar) popsicles for Lyla. Today with much caution (meaning strickly confined to her high chair) we tested them out. They were a huge success as you can see. Nummy!
