Another clip just because

Had to share just one more. This was taken before the last. She is pretty darn adorable if I don't say so myself.

More of "I can do it myself"

Finally caught Lyla standing on video. She is a little to comfortable standing on her own I think...starting to make momma a nervous.

Trouble

We have hit a whole new world this week. That is the world of "T-R-O-U-B-L-E." Lyla has no fear and she is getting into everything! She is also, as I posted last, standing which brings a whole new world of trouble because the sturdest objects aren't exactly with in reach so she likes to hold herself up on things like the laundry basket or her car seat both of which could tip over at a moments notice. Not to mention the likelihood that she is just going to fall because her balance isn't the best and she'll hit her head or worse smash her teeth again (which by the way we think there are is another set coming in on top...poor girl). All these things pretty much leave me on the edge of my seat all the time. This morning the object of balance was Dad (thankfully he is a little safer...well sort of). And she was using him to get behind the bed to the window's ledge to grab the water bottle. Here are a couple picks of her in action. I love the look "What? I am not doing anything." She is a charater.

Because there aren't enough pictures of Lyla in this world

Here are just a few snaps of Lyla and I playing around this afternoon. She loves to chase me while I have the camera. I have more snaps of her face close up then anything else but I did manage to catch these fun ones. What a cheese! The windows by our bed get the best light in the afternoon. Hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

Lyla is standing

I wasn't able to capture a snap of this yesterday afternoon but Lyla is standing! She is actually pulling herself off the floor and standing. Yikes! We are in for trouble! She is already on the move and you put legs behind that movement there is going to be no stopping her. It seems this month has been the month for development. It is like each week, day, minute there is something new. What did we get ourselves into! ;)

And Baby Makes Three

I have been dying to read this book, "And Baby Makes Three" by John Gottman and Julie Schwartz Gottman. I am not sure when I first heard about it or who told me but when I did I knew it was something I should read. I have been reading all sorts of books about Lyla. What to expect when I was expecting, what to expect after and everything in between but I hadn't really thought about Danny and I. Relationships are hard enough without putting a baby between the two of you. Thankfully Danny and I have been doing pretty well but we definitely have our days and this is definitely a reminder that we could be doing better. Once becoming a mom the last thing I thought about was being a wife. I mean Lyla's needs come first. She isn't a phone call or email to be ignored or a appointment to be rescheduled. She needs constant care. Before having her I use to say "We have to make time for us... We have to make dates..." but all that seemed to go out the window when she finally got here. I mean she is wonderful. I don't want to ever leave her. I don't think either of us do. Never the less after adding this book to my christmas wishlist this year I finally got it from my parents and was finally able to dive in yesterday when I was home sick. I am only at the beginning and I have a feeling most of the stuff I am going to read I already know but I think it is going to be a good reminder. Definitely something to think about.

Tooth No. 6

And life keeps on changing.... Today I found Lyla's sixth tooth. I didn't even know it was coming in. Crazy! Lyla also ventured from the living room today. I knew the day would come but who would have thought she'd be so adventurous so quickly. Not only did she leave the living room but she both went into the kitchen and headed for the stairs (just before Daddy snatched her up of course). It looks like our baby proofing couldn't be happening fast enough. This chicka is on the move!
